Kuşadası

Kuşadası, located on Türkiye’s western coast along the Aegean Sea, is a vibrant hub that blends natural beauty with rich history. The town’s scenic bay, modern marina, and lively city center create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

One of its most iconic landmarks, Güvercinada Castle, stands proudly at the harbor and reflects the region’s Ottoman heritage. Kuşadası is also only a few kilometers away from world-renowned cultural sites such as Ephesus Ancient City, the House of the Virgin Mary, and the charming Şirince Village. Climate

Kuşadası enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, making May one of the most pleasant times to visit. Daytime temperatures range between 22–27 °C, with clear skies and plenty of sunshine. Evenings are cooler, averaging 15–18 °C, so participants are advised to bring light clothing for the day and a sweater or jacket for the evenings.

Sea temperatures hover around 20 °C in May, inviting those who wish to swim or enjoy beachside activities. Rainfall is infrequent but brief showers may occasionally occur. Overall, the climate ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience, both for scientific sessions and for exploring the natural and cultural attractions of the region.

How to reach Kuşadası?

Nestled on the Aegean coast of Türkiye, Kuşadası is a vibrant seaside town, easily accessible for both international and domestic visitors. With its proximity to major airports, highways, and a cruise port, reaching Kuşadası is convenient and comfortable. 

By Air 

Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport (ADB): The nearest and most convenient airport, located only 80 km from Kuşadası. From the airport, participants may reach Kuşadası within 1–1.5 hours by private transfer, shuttle, taxi, or intercity bus. 

Bodrum-Milas Airport (BJV): Another option, approximately 130 km away, with a transfer time of about 2 hours. 

Via Istanbul: Both Istanbul Airports (IST and SAW) offer frequent domestic flights to Izmir, making connections from all over the world seamless. 

By Bus 

Kuşadası is well-connected with Türkiye’s major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya through intercity bus networks. The central bus terminal is close to the city center, offering easy local access. 

By Car 

Modern highways provide a smooth journey to Kuşadası: 

From Izmir: ~1 hour (80 km) 

From Aydın: ~45 minutes (60 km) 

From Istanbul: ~6–7 hours (560 km) 

Car rental is recommended for those wishing to explore nearby historical and natural treasures, such as Ephesus, Şirince Village, and Pamukkale

By Sea

As an international cruise port, Kuşadası also welcomes visitors by sea. Regular ferries operate from the Greek island of Samos, offering a scenic alternative for European travelers.
